If your innovative idea is functional, there are two tools at your disposal: the registration of an industrial invention patent and the utility model patent.

The industrial invention patent lasts for 20 years and requires the solution to a technical problem; the utility model patent lasts for 10 years and concerns particular effectiveness or ease of use.

To determine if an idea is innovative before filing a patent, it is advisable to conduct a prior art search. To ensure quality service, we use an international paid patent database that includes translations of at least part of any patent document into English. Usually, the process starts with a national filing that can be extended abroad within a year, claiming priority from the first national filing.

The International Patent (PCT) and the European Patent (EP) allow, through a unified procedure, to obtain a patent valid for all or some of the member states.
